But no problem proceeding after that.

I have several boards. One is open for registration. It started getting a lot of RU spam/hits. I found an ext called "stop forum spam." It works really well for my limited needs. I haven't tried Cloudflare yet. That's a paid service, right?

I think you can chose a free service and better options when you pay.

Here I have set the newly registered users to have their posts approved.
That way they get sorted quickly
