The problem is world wide. Its getting worse and some groups more extreme.
We didnt handle it well from the beginning.

So in its root sense, an “idiot” wasn’t necessarily stupid — they were simply someone who stayed outside the shared conversation of society. In a way, it was more about disengagement than about lack of intelligence.
