Adding bbcode button to the Mchat

I tried adding some extra bbcode buttons to the Mchat, I done some edits in mchat_body.html and bbcode.html the buttons came up but they didn't work, I've deleted my epic fails 
as they messed all the other buttons up, is there a way to make this sort of thing work?
