I must be some think wrong when I click on [Donators group] I get "The requested usergroup does not exist." and when I click on [Donators Area] I just get "The forum you selected does not exist." can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Sorry its not what I mean, I have installed it on my forum which 3.0.9 I get the same problem on my test and live forum.

You have to edit the language file to your needs.

When you say language file do you mean language/en/mods/donate.php, if so I have put my paypal account in the line DONATION_EMAIL => xyz@mydomain.com.
I see there is a ref in the DONATION_TEXT to class="forumtitle" href="./memberlist.php?mode=group&g=10 and href="./viewforum.php?f=40" class="forumtitle as I do not understand php code I know where this is pointing to on my board, maybe this is what I need to know.

Find:

Change it to whatever you like best.
