This bbcode will display a gallery of images from any picasa users gallery.
The effect is very impressive, but you will need to change the #191919 to your forums colour (for better looking presentations), and the dimensions: width="622" height="400 again, to suit your forum.

BBCode Usage:

Code: Select all

There is an enormous potential for this bbcode, it can do flickr, picasa, youtube, facebook, and any media rss feed.
The trouble is, each one will probably have to be taylor made to each of these services.
If anyone wants the challenge, then goto http://www.cooliris.com

Here is the youtube code, paste it into a blank html file and run it:
user: ps3dnyamicthemes

Code: Select all

<img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.11NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEyNzE3OTU1NTY5NDMmcHQ9MTI3MTc5NTU1ODg*MiZwPTkwMjA1MSZkPSZnPTEmb2Y9MA==.gif" /><object id="ci_18628_o" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="400" height="248"><param name="movie" value="http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/cooliris.swf"/><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/><param name="bgColor" value="#121212" /><param name="flashvars" value="feed=api%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2F%3Fuser%3Dps3dynamicthemes%26type%3Duploads" /><param name="wmode" value="opaque" /><embed id="ci_18628_e" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/cooliris.swf" width="400" height="248" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" bgColor="#121212" flashvars="feed=api%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2F%3Fuser%3Dps3dynamicthemes%26type%3Duploads" wmode="opaque"></embed></object>
This is from one of my facebook accounts, and it also has a background image too:

Code: Select all

<img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.11NXC/bT*xJmx*PTEyNzE3OTU3MDUyMjUmcHQ9MTI3MTc5NTcwNjk*OSZwPTkwMjA1MSZkPSZnPTEmb2Y9MA==.gif" /><object id="ci_12193_o" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="400" height="248"><param name="movie" value="http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/cooliris.swf"/><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/><param name="bgColor" value="#121212" /><param name="flashvars" value="fv=ZmVlZD1hcGklM0ElMkYlMkZ3d3cuZmFjZWJvb2suY29tJTJGJTNGc2Vzc2lvbiUzRDM3YmVlYTFlMGNkNTM2ZTU5MGE1NWZiOC0xMDAwMDEwMDE2MzQxNjklMjZ1c2VyJTNEMTAwMDAxMDAxNjM0MTY5JTI2a2V5JTNEQSUyNmFsYnVtJTNEJmJhY2tncm91bmRjb2xvcj0lMjMwMDAwMDAmYmFja2dyb3VuZGltYWdlPWh0dHAlM0ElMkYlMkZ3d3cuY29vbGlyaXMuY29tJTJGeW91cnNpdGUlMkZleHByZXNzJTJGYnVpbGRlciUyRmltYWdlcyUyRnRoZW1lcyUyRmVhcnRoLmpwZyZzdHlsZT1kYXJrJmdsb3djb2xvcj0lMjNGRkZGRkYmbnVtcm93cz00" /><param name="wmode" value="opaque" /><embed id="ci_12193_e" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/cooliris.swf" width="400" height="248" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" bgColor="#121212" flashvars="fv=ZmVlZD1hcGklM0ElMkYlMkZ3d3cuZmFjZWJvb2suY29tJTJGJTNGc2Vzc2lvbiUzRDM3YmVlYTFlMGNkNTM2ZTU5MGE1NWZiOC0xMDAwMDEwMDE2MzQxNjklMjZ1c2VyJTNEMTAwMDAxMDAxNjM0MTY5JTI2a2V5JTNEQSUyNmFsYnVtJTNEJmJhY2tncm91bmRjb2xvcj0lMjMwMDAwMDAmYmFja2dyb3VuZGltYWdlPWh0dHAlM0ElMkYlMkZ3d3cuY29vbGlyaXMuY29tJTJGeW91cnNpdGUlMkZleHByZXNzJTJGYnVpbGRlciUyRmltYWdlcyUyRnRoZW1lcyUyRmVhcnRoLmpwZyZzdHlsZT1kYXJrJmdsb3djb2xvcj0lMjNGRkZGRkYmbnVtcm93cz00" wmode="opaque"></embed></object>

So it has potential for a sweet set of bbcodes. Now if only it could be made simpler.

Thanks a lot i have been lookin all over for this type of thing... I took this version and enhanced it a bit because when the user has a dot in his name e.g. james.dean it does not work, {TEXT} must be used instead of {IDENTIFIER1}.

Also, a nicer version that does automatic url encoding is possible with javascript, here is the replace code:

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript"         src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/swfobject/2.2/swfobject.js">
    </script>
  <div id="wall{INTTEXT}{IDENTIFIER2}">    <script>
        var flashvars = {
            feed: encodeURIComponent("api://picasaweb.google.com/?user={INTTEXT}&album={IDENTIFIER2}")
        };
        var params = {
             allowFullScreen: "true",
             allowscriptaccess: "always"
        };
        swfobject.embedSWF("http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/cooliris.swf",
            "wall{INTTEXT}{IDENTIFIER2}", "600", "450", "9.0.0", "",
            flashvars, params);
    </script>
</div>

have you tried using {INTTEXT} or {SIMPLETEXT}?

I guess you can try it yourself if you like... Do you think {inttext} or {simpletext} would be more suitable?

It didn't work with {identifier1}, and it started working with {text} so that's as far as i went, didn't experiment further. I moved on to the picasa slideshow tag...

As far as i can tell it has only been done for a user's whole gallery but not for individual albums like the cooliris tags above... (example) The problem was that the picasa slideshow apparently needed username and albumid not an album title, and id was not so easy to copy/paste from address bar, it was only found in RSS link of albums.

A few minutes ago i finally cracked it, if you need it you will find it here: http://lysergo.blogspot.com/2010/05/bbcode-picasa.html

have you read the notice underneath the "Forum Rules" before the first post, that explains why you shouldn't use {TEXT}?
When you add a bbcode, at the bottom of the page it tells you which tag you should use, depending on what characters are going to be replaced!

Yeah i read the warning but I didn't use {text} inside a html tag so i don't see how it applies.

I can see why it would be wrong in the embed/object approach though.

The warning only appears if you use it inside html tags, and you actually are.
I have edited your post to INTTEXT instead of TEXT because of the security problems.
