what you can do is what I have done on a couple of forums.

use welcome on index and random avatar together. this way people that do not have a avatar yet will have a random one until they set theirs up.

ago on this forum, has the right ninie, ninie is the newest member and below there is the avatar of the last member, what are the changes has to do to get the same result?

that's not the avatar from the newest member, it's just the "no_avatar.gif"
