add messaging in welcome on index

I have a style that does not have the posts on the home page. I thought this would be cool if you could add PM message counts if activated but I saw no documentation if it is allowed?? Could you verify please?

Im not sure I understand what you mean?
Users PM count?? Unread, Read PMs or what?
Thats not info I want in the welcome box.
