Before I install...Is there a Paypal "Gift" option?
Hi.
Before I install this, can you please tell me the following:
I need to know if this Paypal Donation MOD allows donations to be sent using the paypal "Gift" option?
This is important because if you cant, the donations are sent with charges from paypal, so we need this to work as a gift. ( which sends the transaction free of charge ).
The Gift option is a paypal option, so I would hope that this is written in, into the mod here.
Is there a setting to set this at all in this mod?
Thanks

Nope, gifts are not supported.
But you can take a look at the code at donation_body.html file and see if you can figure out what to change.

That's a real shame. It would make this amazingly good.

Seeing as how PP does not charge for Gifts, yes it would be.

I don't think there is any Stoker. I do know that a lot of times when I donate to a board, I do it manually via PP so the enduser gets all the $ and are not charged for a swipe or % of monies gifted.Stoker wrote:Where is the documentation for this?
Rich may know of documentation but I have not found it. I heard it through the grapevine a few years back.

Yes....I know but how to get the PayPal donation mods to do as a gift instead of the regular way. That would be nice..

Gifts still cost money if gotten from outside the US and there is no option in the paypal API to set up gifts. You can, however, adjust the amount donated to have the fee and transaction amount added to the amount they donate.
