When I joined here I noticed that there's no notification when someone replies to a post I made. The notifications for DM work. My own board runs this way too so that's probably just normal for phpbb.

Is this an ext to make phpbb send notifications for replies or specifically @ mentions? (Typing "@" does prompt the system to ask me who to tag.)

Not to split hairs but a note appears in the list if I click on "notifications" but the bell doesn't turn red (indicating a new notification) for topic replies. I've only seen it happen for a DM. Just sayin.

What is it that y'all were talking about? Is that an ext to make the bell go off?

Again.... I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass.... I was wondering for my own board how to explain the notifications system to users. I tested it a little on my own board, sending messages to myself to see how it would notify me. I wasn't pleased. I want people to be notified of new posts in any subforum, of a category to which they're subscribed. It seems like one has to be subscribed to that exact forum or post before a notification is issued. Not 100% sure (yet) about all this though. Maybe I was doing something wrong. I'm going to resume testing after I get further along with the content (which I should've had done last week).

I haven't messed with it yet. I've been working on filling in content under the admin acct. Once I start adding content from the other (content acct) then I can test the notifications.

Today it said I had two notifications, both from your reply to this post here. Cool.

I also haven't tried the (center) bbcode yet. Do you consider the {b}old (and etc) buttons to be bbcode? As I recall that's where the bbcodes showed up.

I'll keep all those tips in mind when I circle back to them though, so thanks!
