UCP how to make Private Messages tab go to Inbox?

Hello, was wondering if someone can show me how when clicking on the Private Messages tab in User Control Panel, to go dirctly to Inbox instead?

i can probably show you how, but why don't you just click on the "new messages" link next to the UCP on the navbar? that takes you straight to the inbox!

Thanks Cisco, but I see a tab that says "Private Messages" and when I click on it I get to the compse a message page... maybe it's just a pet-peeve of mine. But just trying to make my site as user-friendly as possible

I know what you mean about the link. but my point is on the tab that says "private messages" should really say "compse a message" ( I actually may just end up renaming the tab to that to be honest ). its like clicking on a link that says "read new posts" and it takes you to the forums instead. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Actually "private messages" is referring to the section in general, which includes composing messages and reading your private messages! The PHPBB forum team have spent many long and tidious hours on this, there is a reason why it's named that way!

I agree with you Pete, its better if it pointed at the inbox.
Its defined somewhere in the php files but I cant locate it.

If I recall, there was a version ( 3.0.4 ? ) where (0 new messages) took you to the compossing section of PM instead. It wasn't ment to be that way and fixed a version later. not alot of people payed attention to that, obvouisly. Just because something is one way, doesn't always mean it's correct. =)
