Hello,

While doing some server maintainance I lost my database backups.
The latest recoverable backup was from 14.06.11 so unfortunately I lost quite a lot work here.
Once again I will start recover lost work...

Sorry to hear that Stoker  did your server or host they don't do the auto back up nightly or every other night ?
My is auto back up every other night, so last week I try to updated my board to 3.0.9 and I made big crash too so I asked the host and they gave the latest backup and I lost only 1 day post ;) Good luck to you Stoker

HMMMM maybe you should be using the auto back up mod my board backs its self up once a day i got fed up of starting over after a crash and not having a up to date back up.

Every day at a set time a auto back up is done it will store 7 back ups.

I'm not going to insult you and shout you should be using this am i'm sure you know about it plus a lot more than i do

but here it is (save you looking for it) http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... #p12998539 it works on 309 if you don't have it installed.

This mod is a life saver at times as i host my own server from home so don't have a host to do back ups for me as some do.

I am using that mod and it is great.
But unfortunately it doesnt help when the backups are stored online.
When you loose that online storage you also loose the backups.

Ha right as i'm hosting my own it's perfect to me.

If you would like to encrypt your back up file or files so only you have access to open it i don't mind you storing it on my server for you.

Version 102 has the option to download as well.

Latest version is available: Auto Backup 1.0.3

A time ago I spoke with the author of this Mod. He recalled something about sending the backups by mail.

What do you think about this?
